Regarding the comment in the article ab0ut Israel's Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon walking on the Mount of the Jewish Temple, the holiest site in Judaism and and uniquely central to the practice of Judaism and no other religion - no account is given as to why this act should be regarded as provoking the throwing of stones at Jews - a lethal attack on civilians, or why this should be accepted by the world media and thus the word, as normal.
ReplyDeleteThe media, in this case the New York Times, is presupposing, and asking us to presuppose that a Jew walking on a Jewish holy site (although one coveted by others) should be reasonably expected to be considered a provocation. And thus the ensuing intifada, a war against Jewish people, is justified, understood, and endorsed.
